We do this by establishing Change Agent groups who then work to build their communities, ensuring that everyone is included, has a chance to contribute and reach their full potential. Our programmes fall into 6 core areas: Community, Education, Skill Development, Prevention, Rehabilitation and Sports. Oasis India works in Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Manipur. The focus has been on education, health care, and women’s empowerment, youth engagement and empowerment. By setting up a hub in the centre of the community, we seek to achieve our vision by creating vibrant, healthy communities where people, especially the socially excluded, feel welcome and able to contribute positively to their communities. Our programmes fall into 6 core areas: Community, Education, Skill Development, Prevention, Rehabilitation and Sports.
Over last 25 years, efforts have included establishing the Anti Human Trafficking work through work centers in two major Red light districts of Mumbai Viz; Grant Road and Kamatipura. Outreach to women, children, and men in the area has led to many leaving the Red Light Area and being established with sustainable employment and active life in normal community settings. Rehabilitation facility is a safe home for those move out of the Red Light Area and helps the girls and women gain healing, make informed choices and achieve their full potential. The interventions are aligned with strategic core objectives viz- Education, Skilling, Sports, Rehabilitation, Prevention and Community building.
